For the past 50 years, Cabarrus County's Emergency Medical Services served their community from the same outdated building. To accommodate a staff that has grown tenfold to more than 160 employees, a new state‑of‑the‑art EMS hub was built: a 30,000‑square‑foot facility with offices, training spaces, a lecture hall, fitness center, 10 large ambulance bays and more.
A‑1 Glass & Aluminum delivered the full glazing package, from an Action BR250 level III bullet‑resistant aluminum framing system glazed with glass‑clad polycarbonate, to EFCO 5600 curtainwall, EFCO 403 and 401 storefront, D500 series doors and E‑Shade sunshades in clear anodized. Curtainwall and storefront carry 1" IGUs with Guardian SNX 62/27 low‑E on clear and warm gray glass, and interior heavy glass doors and sidelites use 1/2" clear monolithic glazing in a top‑and‑bottom U‑channel system.
